Our way of making wine
A journey that begins in the vineyard and reaches the heart. Making wine at Fattoria di Monticello means following a path made of gestures, daily care, and deep respect for nature.
Every bottle is born from a simple idea: to accompany the grape on its journey, never forcing it.
Harvest: the most anticipated moment
Everything begins among the rows of vines, when the grapes reach their perfect balance.
Harvest is a special moment, filled with silence, care, and hands carefully selecting the finest bunches one by one.
It is here that wine takes its first shape: in choosing the right moment, in attention to detail, and in respecting natural ripening.
A delicate step
Immediately after harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery in small crates to protect them and keep them intact.
It is a brief but essential step, ensuring that each bunch arrives at the winery in the best possible condition.
Inside the cellar: listening to nature
Here, the work changes rhythm, but not philosophy.
The grapes are received and guided through their transformation process using modern technologies, always with a single goal: respecting what nature has created.
Nothing is forced. Every stage follows the wineโs own time.
The time of evolution
Some wines are meant to be fresh and immediate, while others need time to fully express themselves.
For this reason, part of our production rests in stainless steel, where it preserves its freshness and energy.
Other wines instead come into contact with wood, in French oak barriques, where time becomes an ally and the wine learns to express itself in a deeper and more complex way.
A natural balance
Every choice, both in the vineyard and in the winery, has one goal: to find balance.
Balance between structure and drinkability, between freshness and complexity, between territory and interpretation.
The result is wines that do not seek to impress through artifice, but win people over with their authenticity.
The territory in every glass
Our wines are a reflection of the most authentic Umbria: a land of hills, light, wind, and silence.
Each sip tells this landscape, its energy, and its identity.
No wine is ever the same, because no two vintages are alike, and no two seasons are identical.
The Monticello experience
Visiting Fattoria di Monticello, tasting our wines, or simply enjoying them at the table means entering this world.
A world made of simple gestures, constant care, and a deep connection with the land.
